GM to the Top 1% ⚡

The average sales rep starts their day reactively.

Slack first. Email second. CRM third. Pipeline review whenever they get to it.

The top 1% start their day differently. And the difference compounds.

🔑 6 THINGS THE TOP 1% DO BEFORE 9AM

1. They interrogate the pipeline.

Not to update fields. To ask one question: "Which deal on this list is closest to dying and what am I going to do about it today?"

Most reps protect their pipeline numbers. The best ones challenge them.

2. They send one value-add message before any outbound.

A relevant article. An industry stat. A "saw this and thought of you."

One message, no ask. This creates pull instead of push. And pull closes.

3. They listen to one lost deal recording.

Not a win. A loss.

The best reps learn more from the moments they went wrong than the moments they went right. Fifteen minutes of honest review compounds faster than fifteen minutes of pitch practice.

4. They write down the one thing they're avoiding.

The hard call. The stalled deal email. The internal conversation they keep postponing.

Then they do it first. The thing you avoid the most is usually worth the most.

5. They set a single daily intention.

Not a to-do list. One sentence: "Today I will ___ so that ___."

Specificity is the difference between a plan and a wish.

6. They protect the first hour.

No Slack. No email. No quick syncs.

Revenue-generating work before reactive work, every single day. The calendar that generates quota looks nothing like the average rep's calendar.

💡 WHY MORNINGS COMPOUND

Here's what I've seen across 15 years: the gap between a good rep and a great rep isn't talent. It's what they do with the 60 minutes before the rest of the company starts making demands on their attention.

That hour is yours. What you do with it is a choice.

YOUR HOMEWORK

Pick one of these six habits. Just one. Run it for five consecutive business days and notice what shifts.

Don't try to install all six at once. That's the trap. One habit, executed consistently, beats six habits executed randomly.

❓ QUESTION OF THE DAY

What's the first thing you do when you sit down to work? And is it revenue-generating or reactive?
