GM to the Top 1% of the Sales world,

Two days in. You've got the DISC formula. You've got the 3-2-1 follow-up sequence.

But here's the thing: cold email alone is a losing game in 2026.

🎯 TODAY'S INSIGHT: The 15-Minute LinkedIn Warm-Up

The data is clear: only 1-4% of cold emails get replies. Meanwhile, 87% of decision-makers will respond to someone who was introduced through their network or has an established professional brand.

That's not a marginal difference. That's the difference between struggling and thriving.

Why "Social Selling" Isn't Just Buzzword BS:

I used to roll my eyes at social selling. Felt like marketing fluff. Then I looked at the numbers:

  • 78% of salespeople using social selling outsell peers who don't (LinkedIn)

  • Sales reps with high Social Selling Index (SSI) have 45% more opportunities (LinkedIn)

  • LinkedIn generates 80% of all B2B social media leads — more than Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram combined

The problem isn't social selling. It's that most reps do it wrong.

They connect → immediately pitch → get ignored → call it "not working."

That's not social selling. That's spam with a blue logo.

The 15-Minute Daily LinkedIn Warm-Up:

Here's my exact routine. It takes 15 minutes in the morning, and it transforms strangers into people who recognize your name.

Minutes 1-5: Engage with Prospects' Content

Pick 5 prospects you're targeting. Before you ever email them:

  • Like their last post

  • Leave a thoughtful comment (not "Great post!")

  • Bonus: If they commented on someone else's post, engage there too

The key: Your comment should add to the conversation, not just agree.

"Great insights, Sarah!"

"This tracks with what I'm seeing too — our engineering team cut sprint cycles 30% after implementing similar async standup processes. Curious if you've measured productivity impact yet?"

Minutes 6-10: Post or Share Content

You don't need to go viral. You need to stay visible.

Options:

  • Share an industry article with your 2-sentence take

  • Post a quick lesson learned from your week

  • Ask a genuine question your ICPs would engage with

Minutes 11-15: Send 3 Connection Requests

Use this template (not the default LinkedIn message):

"Hi [Name], noticed we're both focused on [specific industry/challenge]. Been enjoying your posts on [specific topic]. Would love to connect and follow your journey."

That's it. 15 minutes. Compound over weeks. By the time you email them, they've seen your name 5+ times.

Real Example: The Warm Path

Last month, I wanted to reach a VP of Revenue at a Series C startup.

Week 1: Liked 4 of her posts, commented meaningfully on 2 Week 2: Connected (she accepted same day) Week 3: She commented on MY post Week 4: Sent a DM referencing our interactions

Her response: "I was wondering when you'd reach out. What do you have?"

That's the warm path. She already knew me. The conversation was halfway done before it started.

🛠️ TOOL OF THE DAY: Claude as Your LinkedIn Analyst

Prompt for LinkedIn engagement:

"I'm targeting [Name], [Title] at [Company]. Here's their recent LinkedIn post:

[Paste the post]

Generate 3 thoughtful comments I could leave that:

  1. Add to the conversation (not just agree)

  2. Reference my expertise in [your area] subtly

  3. End with a question that invites dialogue

  4. Are under 50 words each"

📊 QUICK STAT

Social sellers create 45% more opportunities and are 51% more likely to hit quota than those who don't use social selling.
