GM to the Top 1% 👋
Most sales reps use 10+ tools.
And still spend 72% of their time NOT selling.
The problem isn't the tools. It's the stack.
🎯 TODAY'S INSIGHT: The $2,350/Month Stack vs. The $50/Month Stack
Here's what the average enterprise sales tech stack looks like:
→ Salesforce: $150/user/month → Outreach or Salesloft: $125/user/month → LinkedIn Sales Navigator: $99/month → ZoomInfo or Apollo: $200+/month → Gong or Chorus: $100/user/month → Clari or similar: $75/user/month → Plus 4-5 other "essential" tools
Total? Easily $2,000-$2,500/month per rep.
And yet, reps still miss quota. Still spend most of their day on admin. Still struggle to find the right people to talk to.
Here's the stack I've been testing that costs $50/month and replaces most of that:
🔑 THE 2026 AI PROSPECTING STACK
Tool 1: Claude Pro — $20/month
This replaces: Research tools, email writing tools, call prep tools, and half your admin work.
What I use it for: → Account research (drop in a 10-K, get a full briefing in 60 seconds) → Email personalization at scale → Discovery call prep → Objection handling practice → Meeting summaries
Tool 2: Apollo.io Free Tier — $0/month
This replaces: ZoomInfo for basic contact finding.
The free tier gives you 60 credits/month. That's enough for targeted prospecting if you're not spraying and praying.
Tool 3: LinkedIn Sales Navigator Core — $99/month (or skip it)
Honestly? For most reps, the free LinkedIn search is enough if you know Boolean operators.
But if you prospect heavily, Navigator's "Changed jobs in past 90 days" filter alone is worth it. New executives are 2.5x more likely to buy in their first 90 days.
Tool 4: Notion or Google Docs — $0/month
This replaces: Half of your CRM for personal pipeline tracking.
I keep a simple table: Prospect | Company | Status | Next Action | Notes
Your CRM is for your manager. Your personal tracker is for you.
Total: $20-$120/month depending on whether you need Navigator.
📊 THE REAL UNLOCK: AI + HUMAN JUDGMENT
The tools don't matter as much as how you use them.
The reps who are crushing it right now aren't using AI to send more emails.
They're using AI to: → Research deeper → Personalize faster → Prep better → Follow up smarter
Volume is dead. Relevance wins.
One deeply personalized email beats 50 templated ones. AI lets you do deep personalization at scale — if you use it right.
🤖 AI NEWS THAT MATTERS
The Salesloft-Clari merger is officially happening.
Why it matters: The sales tech consolidation wave is accelerating. Expect your company's tool stack to shrink over the next 18 months as these platforms absorb each other.
Smart move: Learn the fundamentals (research, messaging, follow-up, negotiation) rather than becoming an expert in any single tool. Tools change. Skills compound.
✍️ YOUR HOMEWORK
Audit your current tool stack this weekend.
List every sales tool you use
Write down what you actually use each one for
Ask: Could Claude or a free alternative do 80% of this?
You might be surprised how much you're paying for tools you barely use.
💬 QUESTION OF THE DAY
What's the one sales tool you couldn't live without?
Hit reply — I'm building a "Top 1% Tool Stack" guide and want to include what's actually working for people.
